When I first planned on breastfeeding my baby- I thought how hard could this be? I figured it would just come naturally and it would always go smoothly. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Breastfeeding is hard work. If you have already been breastfeeding, then you know what I mean.

There is a reason why breast milk is referred to as “liquid gold”. It is truly a treasure. We work hard as breastfeeding mamas and we can’t afford to have ANY of our milk go to waste. I quickly realized that I was wasting milk when nursing on one side and leaking out the other. Let me share with you how you can stop wasting and start saving!

There have been valleys and peaks on my breastfeeding journey. I had a time where I thought I wouldn’t be able to keep doing it and my supply dwindled down so low. It was discouraging to say the least. That was the time that I really buckled down and looked into all of my options to increase my production and save any and all the milk I could. I didn’t want a single drop to go to waste.

When I was producing the absolute bare minimum every single milliliter counted. I realized that when I was feeding my baby on one side, the let down still happens on the other side and therefore causing me to waste some milk into the breast pad (or my shirt if I forgot to put a pad on that day). Upon researching what to do- I came across this milk saver manual breast pump on Amazon (view here).

Bumblebee Breast Pump!

The common brand for this is the Haakaa- maybe you have heard of that? This manual pump is superior to the others, and tested against USA FDA regulations and certified free of BPA, PVC, Phthalate and Lead. It is 100% food grade quality silicone making it perfectly safe for your milk.

It comes with a spill stopper, cover, and bag for travel.

The storage capacity for this pump is 4 ounces. It works by creating a strong seal and suction against the breast. The continual suction it provides is what draws the milk out of the breast.

I was skeptical when I first bought it, but after using it the very first time I couldn’t believe the amount of milk that I had been wasting all along! If you aren’t convinced yet, visit Amazon for yourself and see the thousands of other moms who have used this product.

This is a MUST HAVE item for the breastfeeding mom because every ounce counts!
